Introduction

The challenges facing the construction industry

In times of digital revolution, financial uncertainty, and dwindling land resources, builders, planners, and construction companies are faced with the increasing challenge of remaining innovative. The construction industry lags far behind other technological sectors today and is often perceived as conservative and sluggish. The primary task of all construction stakeholders is to combine the appropriate software tools with the right expertise to successfully complete a safe and economical project. Ancillary conditions such as transparency, honesty, and good collaboration must be brought back into focus.

About me

Passion and Experience

The technical component encompasses geotechnics and soil mechanics. These are complex subject areas where early expertise can save many resources. Experience has shown that soil is not the same everywhere and always behaves differently, making the task demanding and versatile for me. Through experience and calculations, potential risks such as water, sliding layers, or soil bearing capacity can be minimized, enabling economic planning and construction processes.

The human component involves correct communication with each other and the exchange of professional knowledge among the various construction parties with different levels of expertise. For me, a sustainable partnership is the focus, based on respect, transparency, and honesty, thus allowing short-term individual interests of individual project participants to take a back seat.

The software component forms not only the basis of an economical construction solution but also of efficient collaboration. Traditional construction tools have their justification, but there must always be a willingness for new technologies to secure advantages and synergies.

The complexity and integration of these three different subject areas for a project make my work exciting and challenging. The motivation to find an optimal solution for all involved is my driving force.

Experience

Greute AG: Division Head of Engineering Special Foundation Construction

2023 - Heute

Further development of the Engineering Competence Center for Special Foundation Engineering at Greuter AG. Development of the most economical and statically secure solutions for pile foundations or excavation support. Conceptualization, assistance, and optimization of construction projects, both in the tendering and execution planning phases, as well as directly in construction execution.

Greuter AG: Civil Engineer specialized in Special Foundation Engineering

2017 - 2022

Development of in-house entrepreneur variants, structural proofs, technical construction supervision, and professional tendering in special foundation engineering. Supporting companies, planners, as well as clients in the planning and execution of economically optimized and secure excavations.

Implenia Schweiz AG: Master's student in Sustainable Construction

2016

Elaboration of the master's thesis: 'Argumentation for Sustainable Construction' (Grade 5.75). The focus was on comparing various building materials, building certifications, and incentive systems for sustainable construction in the areas of ecology, economy, and social aspects.

Atecplan Ingenieurbüro GmbH: Bachelor student and working student

2009 - 2016

Preparation of the bachelor's thesis: 'Dimensioning and Design of a Cleanroom Ventilation System' (Grade 6.0). The focus was on the technical development of a ventilation solution for a blood plasma fractionation facility, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of air purity and airflow. Additional activities included working as a student assistant in CAD drafting and the construction of industrial plants and building technology.
